:: Randomosity ::

No specific topic tonight, just feel like ranting a bit. First off, check out Katie's new design, Staring at the Lights. Not quite sure what it means, but it's a catchy title, and she's got this very cool header graphic for it. Incidentally, I've heard that phrase before when referring to boxing - the loser ends up "staring at the lights" when he's knocked out. Odd, I never took Katie for a boxing fan. Oh well. Live and learn, I suppose.

It seems like I have some degree of free time coming up...I have a couple papers to do, 2 photography projects, and...not much more that I can think of. I think I'll spend some time organizing the stuff I've got online, maybe working on the Drink some more - Oh, Elaine was nice enough (VERY NICE enough) to send me some photos of the bar in Calgary that's named The Drink! Expect them to be shown here once they get scanned. Anyways, maybe I'll work on the Drink (comic) some, or I'm going to try to get the projects section finished/sorted. Then there's the Canwon2 stuff...the video project from that, as well. I've been converting all the Cowboy Bebop episodes into workable files, so that I can cut and clip stuff from the shows, but that will be a fairly major project, one that I think will have to wait for a while yet.

Who reads this anyway?

A number of people I've been talking to recently have been expressing a lot of anxiety to return home for christmas (these people are studying away from home, obviously), and I can't help but feel...disappointed. But here's the thing. I've never been possessed by a fierce urge to get out of Kamloops, I've never been absolutely longing to travel or attend a distant university. And since UCC's the only BC university to offer a bachelor of Journalism, if I were to go away it'd be at the least out-of-province...and I've never really given it much thought. So what is it? I never found it the most exciting place here, but never before has it seemed so...just dull. I used to be content here, but now people just aren't the same, it's "What's up tonight?" "Oh, we're going to [insert bar name here]." "Ah. Well, have fun."

I've just got no inspiration anymore. Sure, do well in school, yadda yadda yadda. But it's not like I'm pursuing a lifelong dream or anything. I mean, before this year I hadn't even decided on what I was taking yet, and even that was more akin to a coin toss than anything else. That's why I enjoy creating things out of no real reason, such as the music videos. When I'm working on those, I am driven. The Kryptonite video, the first night worked on it for 7 or 8 hours STRAIGHT. That's S-T-R-A-I-G-H-T. And it gives me such a feeling of accomplishment when I finish. What else do I do, besides exercise my ability to amuse people? Hockey, plow along in school, do little niceties like do the elementary school webpage, burn some cds for people, draw a picture for someone...it's just so boring.

And why does everyone love Jack Black, or whoever the heck he is? And WHY is everyone all of a sudden telling me about his little band, and the song called "Wonderboy" ? I mean like, what is WITH that? It's not like it's Russell Crowe or anything. (and yes, I do know Russell Crowe has a band, 30 Odd Feet of Grunts or something to the like. I listened to them already.) Oh, and in case his name isn't really Jack Black or Joe Schmoe or whoever he is, he's the guy in that new movie Shallow Hal (he's Hal).

Y'know what I REALLY hate? Yahoo. Let me tell you a story. I had an email account there, named (of course) decordas. Back when I'd chat in Yahoo chat, there were these personal profiles you could make, ie personas. I had a few...one to be serious with (decordas), one to be an ass with (gwarron. That was always with Ed. Those were some good times.) etc etc. So one of them was the "mysterious" persona. He had an age of 0, zero. No biggie, right? Well then Yahoo changed their setup, making it so that only people who were of a certain age could chat. 13 and up, or something. It's not important. What IS important was that Yahoo now detected this age of zero this profile had, and BAM - cut off access for the account. I can log in, but I can't modify my account at all. It lists them all, and so I look over the list and see the faulty profile, click "edit your profile" and get a message "You are too young to have a Yahoo profile!" So apparently the fact that I'm too young to have Public Profile, combined with the fact that I already HAVE some Public Profiles, messes something up, and therefore restricts ALL access to my account. Like, email? Nope. Cut off. Stupid yahoo. And there's nothing I can change about it, nowhere to contact, nothing. I'm stuck. Stupid irritating Yahoo. That's why I'll never use it again, because of this.

Whewwwww........

Well, that's enough for now. Another day gone by, another unaccomplishing, drab and trudging day. Take a breath, lose track of it in mind and forget about it, go look for something to do. As always.

:: The Wicker Man, revisited ::

For those of you who've seen the first music video, do you think I should include this clip (click here) on the end? It would seem to wrap it off nicely, I think.
:: Halloween!!!! ::

Muah ha ha ha!! Check it. Sadly too, out of those search results, it seems like my hit was the only one who was actually about what they were really searching for.

So today (damn, yesterday now. I think days should 'end' at like 4 am. I mean seriously, the day doesn't end till you're asleep.) was Halloween. And man has it gone downhill. How many kids came to our door? 19. NINETEEN! What the hell is that? And we're in a neighborhood between the local elementary AND high schools. It's sad is what it is! Although, Trevor only got ONE treater. Oh, and the costumes? There's the occasional gem, but now it's just storebought junk or the smartasses who knock and say "I'm a typical teenager!" or "Huh huh, I've got a skateboard, I'm Tony Hawk!"

"I've got a hockey stick, but do I look like Wayne Gretzky to you?" Stupid dolts.

Then they egg your house.

I did see some very good costumes at a party later on, but nothing was...original. Oh look, a ninja with a plastic sword. Oh, angels with little wings and glitter on their face. Very nice, but not too creative. A lot of people just wore ragged clothes and put some fake blood over the tears. :P The devil girl's suction cup horns were fun to play with, though. Oh! And one guy was a fisherman. A fisherman! He had a net and the vest, hat, pouches, everything. I'd say that was the most innovative costume I saw today. And how sad is that?

There were also some guys shooting off fireworks in the parking lot at the hockey rink, only horizontally - like ACROSS the lot. In line with the cars parked there. I'm sure it was a real blast, guys. I hope the cops don't find out your license plate number. Oh what's this, written on a paper in my pocket? Why it's your license plate number! Imagine that!

Halloween is depressing. Not the whole event itself...just how far it's gone downhill since my childhood. *sigh*

Oh well! Here's a drawing I did one year ago. Halloweeeeeeeen!

:: Kryptonite ::

Ohhhhhhhhhh yeah, done the second video! Time tally: 16 hours. Much faster than the first video. Will put online later.

Update: it's online, haven't elaborated at all - go here to download: The 2nd Video! Or look for the banner down on the left side, click that.

:: Ouch / Miscellaneous. ::

Ha HA! The blog's back online. I blame it completely on Shaw. (renaming or something, messed up Erin's setup)

Tonight in hockey, I got cross-checked into the boards. I didn't really think anything of it at the time - actually, I was kinda glad, cause the guy who did it got a penalty. So later on in the game my back started to ache, but I figured it was just cause I was outta practice (and shape). But after the game, I could barely...well, do anything. Standing hurt. Sitting hurt. Stretching either way hurt. Driving home was hell, being stuck in a rather limited position for 20 minutes.
The only possible good part of this is that I have an English midterm tomorrow. As it is, if my back does not improve by tomorrow morning, there's just no possible way I'm going to be able to sit in a chair and write for an hour, let alone drive up to the college.

Speaking of midterms, I just never realized how badly this week sucked until yesterday!!
Monday - Photography technical assignment due
Tuesday - Biology research assignment due (started/completed, oh, 2.5 hours before class.)
Wednesday - Anthropology midterm (blah. That is all.)
Thursday - English Midterm
Friday - Biology Test/Quiz

BRUTAL! And here I was on the weekend, carefree and only thinking about (only REMEMBERING) the photography assignment. :\

:: Me...want... ::

Oh...my...gosh. I want this SO bad!!! Anyone got $180 american to spare? :P

:: Oysters ::

I have seen the future of sports.

And it is oyster shucking.

Sunday october 28, TSN Canada's best oyster shuckers compete to be the very best. (Keep in mind that this is the same channel that aired the national spelling bee competitions and the Grand Prix Poker finals, both 2-3 hour long events)

:: Plug ::

stuffedpenguins.com - my penguin's name? Well, that's a story in itself, one that will come later.

:: What am I listening to? ::

Changed the "Currently listening to" to link to a page with my current playlist. You can click here to check it out. (yes, I like Cowboy Bebop)
Update: Added the playlist button at the top.

Oh, also changed the Locke picture on the right to be a bit darker, because when scrolled down it got to be a bit difficult to read the text at times.

:: Random Tidbits / Link time ::

Man I love Weezer's "Only in Dreams." Even if it is 8 minutes long. (8 minutes! That's like, almost as long as a Space Ghost episode!

Links: More Than Toast does anime music videos, I love their work. (they're a team, of sorts, sorta) Dual Translations has manga (japanese comics). Patti's page is always fun to read. If you can read Japanese, check out Cowboybebop.com and tell me what it says about the movie!! Euts is addictive, make an account and look for me [decordas]. You know, I'll never forget the time the guys did the naked airband. And I'll plug Katie for a CHECK FOR TODAY!! *wink*

:: Canterbury Mike ::

Well, it's almost 1 am, the essay's due in 7 hours, I've got about 800 words done (it's gotta be about 1000-1200) and I'm feeling strangely relaxed, like, not stressed at all...weird. Actually I've found that's been the case for quite a while. I'm living stress-free!! (muah ha ha)

:: Morning After ::

Tired. Will write more later.

:: Mike = 19 = now! ::

Well, ironically enough Erin's site isn't working right now so nobody will see this until later when it's operational again. But it's 3 am, and I'm now officially 19! Yay me! Tonight was kinda blah, we went out on the hopes of catching one of two (or both) parties we had heard of. One, the girl who was our connection got wasted and had to go home, and the other actually wasn't true, and wasn't a party. So we just flew about for a bit, then rented 3000 miles to Graceland and went to Trev's. The movie wasn't too good. In fact...it kinda sucked. Good beginning, pretty good finish, horrible inbetween. The trailers and previews are TOTALLY misleading, too.

Politics midterm yesterday (Friday), one I was sorta concerned about prior to writing it. Turns out it was sweet and went wicked.

Oh, I received some nice birthday emails...from Mist, Madrox, Mastermind, Sanja, and...what's this? I got one from diomedes@decordas.com? But that's me! Let's see here...
hello
I am a 21-year old from New Jersey ,I has a nice tight body and is eager to please.

But this nice person didn't leave a name! What a shame, now I can't thank her for the birthday wish, which she must've just forgotten to mention in her obviously heartfelt and carefully written email.

Thanks also Mel (whose birthday is ALSO today!!!!), Katie, Ry, Mike H, KC, Brad and Jushin. :)

Listen to "Pistol Packin' Mama" by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters. And "Cats on Mars" from Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.

Unfortunately I have an English paper due Tuesday. That I haven't started yet. *big sigh*

Ah well. Methinks it's time to get some sleep.

:: Photography part deux ::

Y'know, I say to myself every day I finish early, "You are going to go home, and take a nap, and finally recover some of the sleep you've been losing for the past 5 weeks." But...I never do. So I'm perpetually in a tired state. Ah well.

Awesome day in the dark room today (man that sounds...weak), lots of good prints. Here's Roll 2.

:: Thanksgiving ::

Happy Thanksgiving! Today was nice. Hung out at cousin Brad's house, and added to my Dreamcast repetoire: Games played: 3. Games pretty much mastered: 3. Those games are Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and after today, Crazy Taxi 2. I passed all the challenge missions in CT2 today except for the Crazy Taxi Special Something or other...cause it is INSANE. Fortunately, the last two games have taught me a lesson - a bandaid on my right pointer finger prevented the otherwise-inevitable blister. But my finger is still sore as hell and stiff now...blech. Let this be known. Dreamcast is hazardous for your (finger's) health.

Food tonight: buns, ham, turkey, no stuffing!!! I was disappointed, but oh well. Two pumpkin pies and an oreo ice cream cake made the world well.

Oh, and my other cousin, Courtney - has a Dance Dance Revolution gamepad strapped to a table. I don't know if I should collapse into fits of laughter, or collapse and cry.
:: 1:30 am ramblings ::

Alright, I'm sitting here at my grandpa's computer in Vancouver, and I'm bored, so I figured I may as well ramble on some things.

We're in Vancouver for Thanksgiving! The usual meeting, all the relatives in Vancouver (which is every family but one) meet and have dinner, and all is nice and well, and the food is good, and it's a fun time. I am the oldest kid! Which can sometimes make it not so much fun, but it's usually pretty good.

I returned the shirt to Coquitlam mall today, and fortunately for me, they still had them in stock, so I was able to trade it for the correct (I hope) size. I also found more psycho wear...only this brand is Psyco...but it looks nice so I got it. Besides, I need more long sleeved shirts since my shirt-jacket is IN CALGARY. It is in Calgary because I had it on the Canwon trip, and left it behind. Somehow, it made it into the possession of some people from Calgary, so they took it along, not knowing whose it was. Lucky for me! I haven't figured out how I'm gonna get it yet, but something will arise. :)

I just realized that it wasn't "today" that I did that - it was technically yesterday. I hate that. To me, the new day starts when you wake up. So for me, the day would "end" at around 3 am. :P

You know what saying I hate when it's overused? People saying "quote-unquote" when IT DOESN'T APPLY. I dunno, I find that quite annoying. :P

Quarter to 2, I think I'm gonna try to actually get to sleep before 2...for once. (Heck, I haven't for weeks, probably...)
:: Robots R Us ::

Hmm. This image/link leads to a site where you can answer questions to see what kind of robot you are. Funny thing is about my result? 5 is my lucky number! Oooh, creepy.

:: Caption Contest ::

Well, I've some runner-ups in Randall's caption contest - go there and check out Thursday's post...my submissions were:

hey jim - i caught a huge fish today! special bait? well... you might say that.

now honey, see that downed power line? i'm sure the sign said beware of spark... i mean, what else could it have been?

Cool.
(the picture the captions are about)
:: She's a WHAT? ::

Cynthia, my anthropology prof, had this following tidbit of wisdom to bestow upon us today:

"Y'see, our society may seem quite forgiving and lax, but it's got its own rules, its own structure. Now, it's alright for an older man to marry a young woman...but if a 40 year old woman marries a 20 year old man....well, then she's a cougar."

COUGAR!!!!
I died laughing. While most of the class, who didn't know what she meant, looked at me funny.

For those of you who don't know what the relevance behind the word "cougar" is - I'll explain it some other time, when I HAVE time. It's one of those things that once you learn about the meaning behind it, you'll never look at the word the same way again. Like, newspaper headlines like "Cougar attacks neighborhood!" "Cougars like to hunt their prey!" are just hilarious afterwards. :)

On another note, me and Mitch watched Memento tonight. (again, for me) Guy Pearce rules. Memento rules! Loss of short term memory - well, that would suck. (I'm thinking about ordering one of those mind-erasing kits! Wahaha!) But I love the taking poloroids to record what he's learned/done bit...I should do that. :)

And there's also an irritating story about my elusive Blockbuster card...but it'll have to wait.

:: Busy busy ::

No time to work on web stuff. Bio assignment, Bio lab, politics reading/paper consideration, English essay reading/consideration, photography stuff, and Anthropology ENTIRE BOOK to read by Wednesday.
:: Me, an anime character? ::

Apparently I look like a japanese anime character, according to Adonis of Euts. Heh. Must be the green.

:: Memento, part 2 ::

Memento RULES. See it. Now. That is all.
:: Memento ::

Memento RULES. I'm watching it like right now, and it is awesome. It's so complex and so complicated, but REALLY intriguing...it's absolutely addictive, waiting to see wat new facts are revealed next. Guy Pierce, the good cop from LA Confediential (with Russell Crowe) is very, very good in the role. He's also just got the look of a star...someone who could really make it big, I think. You really begin to speculate, and formulate your own theories and ideas as to what is going on. New factual tidbits spring up every second, and me and Shaun (who I'm watching this with) are getting lost in the various details - some big, some small - and it's getting more interesting every second. Wow. I have to get this movie.

Things are tying together SOOOOOOOOO much...either tha, or they're just confusing the hell out of us.

:: Overhaul Time ::

With the Namezero free names being lost, and me being kinda bored, I figure it's time to overhaul this site and make it more than just a blog. And make it decordas.aspekt.net instead of the longer address it's got now...

Wednesday, September 26, 2001

:: Space Ghost Quotes ::

Space Ghost: I never touched France!!
Zorak: Yes you did! You blew it up!
Space Ghost: Oh, well so I did. C'est la vie.

Space Ghost: I'm gonna get my own big shot lawyer and fight fire with napalm!

Tuesday, September 25, 2001

Aaaargh. My reign of ripping of free site names is gonna come to a close. Come September 30, I'll have to pay for or lose the following sites: svc2k.com, decordas.com, mikkeroni.com, mike-eng.com, westsyde2000.net, kappa-omega.com...think those're all of them.

Well I am almost for certain gonna register decordas.com...and I really want to register teamhotsex.com...though I don't know what I'd put there, so it'd kinda be a waste of money, I guess...

:: This is the coolest thing EVER! ::

Dance Dance Revolution. Also known by the dreaded initials DDR. It's infected my cousin - it's all she talks about. Half the people on Euts are obsessed (in as good a way as possible) with it.

But then - Megatokyo comes out with this. THIS game would TOTALLY kick ass! And it would definitely be way cooler than DDR. :) (but then again, what wouldn't be? )
:: Final Fantastory - Prelude ::

The Prelude is completed. It should run well on most connections, but in case it doesn't a lite version is available here. Incidentally, if you are on a modem connection and find it is abominably slow or something, let me know - fantasy@decordas.com.

I received the spam chain email to end all spam chain emails. You know how most say, "Send this on or you will have bad luck!" or "Jimmy didn't send this, and he lost all his hair in 48 hours!" or if they're a bit more blunt, they might say "Alice didn't keep the email going, four weeks later, she was DEAD!" Right? Well, take a look at this one.
Don't Open in Front of Parents....

Five people actually got killed by not sending this piece of mail.
The creator of this mail has a program that will track down everyone who sent this mail and whoever that didn't send it will DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE because this program can actually track down your address.
Send this to 15 people within the next fifteen minutes or you will die die die die die, what do you have to lose? Your life so pleaz send this on to many of your friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um...right. Send it in 15 minutes, or someone will get my address and come kill me? That's pleasant.
:: Photoshop Attempt #2: Locke ::

Oooooh, check it out - Sketch of Locke that's been done up in Photoshop. All nice and colorful and whatnot. Here's a comparison between the original sketch and the final version. I also used the tablet again, finally - actually, I completely needed it to do this. The level of hand control with the tablet and pen is just so much better than trying to muddle your way around with a mouse.

A quick modification (thanks to the tutorials at Polycarbon) and it becomes Locke in snow!

I've added a new link - Time For Your Meds - thanks to Katie for linking to it, so that I might find it. Time For Your Meds is a very entertaining site. And...I may have to steal the autor's bio idea of having "A to Z" little blurbs about yourself. ;)

:: Westsyde Elementary::

Hmm. Forget the Final Fantastory, I just remembered that I said I'd make my old Elementary school a school website...so *that* is now my new project.

Oh well. Since it's mostly information, such as newsletters and dates of special days and such, hopefully it won't be too intense.
:: Complaint Time ::

Okay. Is it just me, or has Icq suddenly surrendered itself out to the spam gods? Over the last couple of days, when this seems to have started, I've received countless pager messages for free porn, instant money, 'inside' investment deals...what the hell is going on? I hate that stupid pager thing anyways, I think I've received maybe ONE actual pager message, and that was from Shadnet. These are getting very annoying, very quickly.

Well, time to get ready for classes. And actually remember to pick Trev up today.

:: Photoshop, Tablet, and the Ghost ::

Check it out.
:: Photography Pics ::

Wanna see the pics I take for photography class? Check the link.

*cough* The felt pens I used to color a drawing of Space Ghost are making me nauseus...

In other news, turns out I studied the WRONG part of Chaucer for the quiz today. *siiiiiiigh* I read the introduction to Chaucer, instead of the introduction to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Not too good.
:: Mac Hall ::

Mac Hall. A comic I've been checking out. WICKED art. That is all.
:: Mest ::

Just found a band named Mest, while searching Morpheus for Default's Wasting My Time - Mest also has a song titled that. Anyways, Mest rules! A nice fluke happening.
:: Chaucer ::

Reading Chaucer for English quiz tomorrow...printed some photos, scanned 'em. May post them tonight, maybe tomorrow. Dunno.

:: testing ::

Testing new "Currently [doing stuff]" things at the bottom of the page. Bleah...I'm making prints tomorrow! During my breaks. Also paying for Photography, which I just got signed into from the waitlist. Bah. More money. :| *sigh*

Oh, also added some more banner links on the side. Yup, more tinkering.

:: Farewell ::

On my way home from my Biology lecture tonight, I passed by the Maytag furniture store. They always have a little sign with a glib quote or comment on it. Tonight, the sign read "Our prayers go with you, Casey and Finnigan." Casey and Finnigan were, of course, the puppet companions of Ernie Coombs, better known as Mr. Dressup. Mr. Coombs passed away today from a stroke he suffered a week ago.

I can't honestly say I remember much about the Mr. Dressup show - it's mixed together with blurred memories of other childhood shows such as Mr. Rogers and The Polka Dot Door. But just the very mention of the name brings comforting, semiconscious memories, of laughter and of earnest enjoyment from those childhood days. Imagination was always the skill that Mr. Coombs would encourage, with creative crafts and games.

Truly 'tis a sad day. Farewell, Mr. Dressup.

:: Guess what ::

Right click and save as!
:: Wheeeeeeeee! ::

Um. Well...this is strange...but funny.
:: Odd stuff ::

Well this is odd. Lately I've received two document files - one from Gordon, a workterm report draft, and one from Jeff, an English essay draft. Both to check out. So anyways, I saved the files to my Morpheus "Shared Files" folder, cause that's where all my recently downloaded stuff goes - so I figured might as well put them there.

I get back from school today, and having left Morpheus running because I had been downloading when I left, I found to my surprise that 2 people downloaded Jeff's english essy draft, and one person downloaded Gordon's workterm draft.

What the hell?!?
I wish I knew what they had been searching for, that they would download those...
:: Stupid Angelfire ::

I have this to say about Angelfire free webhosting: YOU SUCK!
I uploaded the movie there, and they destroy my account for some reason. I didn't like directly to it, I BUILT a page, an Angelfire page, with the link on that...so it's not remote loading. Bah, stupid bastards.

Well, I've uploaded it to aspekt.net - I know THEY (he) won't delete my account. :P
The link is here: The Video!
IE users, right click and choose "Save Target As"
Netscape users, right click and choose "Save Link As"
:: Done the video! (part 2) ::

Hooray, hooray, hooooooraaaaaaaay! It's done! Finally!! Hallejeuah! (or however you spell it, I don't care)
The final thing is 47 mb, without any sort of compression...I haven't looked into that yet. But it's an mpeg file, which means no divx codex problems or anything like that.

Estimated time spent: 25-30 hours.

I'm almost completely satisfied with it. There's only one scene, where Starscream dies, that I couldn't fit in. Well, and I wanted to have more near the conclusion where Hot Rod becomes Rodimus...but timing timing timing troubles occurred. I'm at this moment sending the video to Ryan, and awaiting his opinion.

Something kinda funny - right now, as I'm done, Gordon is just finishing HIS big project, a workterm report he had to do for his work!! We rule!! Yaaaaaaaah!
:: Done the video!! ::
I'm done the video! As I write this, it's converting...ooooooh....the suspense!
Ah! It just finished!!! Time to do the final checking...

Currently working on

Eh, decided to copy Ardant and put a "Currently working on" thing at the bottom of the page, on the right. I figure it may get changed quite a bit. Or else I'll never change it and eventually take it off from un-use. Either way.

Actually now that I think about it, I'll likely move it to the left hand side, and put it either just above or below the banner links. More room there.

If I do get some developing done in photography tomorrow (well today), I'll try and scan some and post them. :)

Photography

I went to the park today, to take some pictures I'd need to process for my photography class tomorrow. And as luck would have it - there was a kid's festival or something happening! So I got some neat pics of the stuff going on there. Fred Penner was there, too. Then I went up and processed the film, and I was money in the dark room. I got the film out of the canister and wound it and sealed it in like 2 minutes. I was proud.

Then I used the chemicals, which took like 20 minutes. So that was boring. Boooooooring.

On another note, the Transformers Music Vid - currently stands at 3:45 complete of the 4:30 song. I'm ALMOST there...

Saturday, September 15, 2001

Muskateer

Still plugging away at the Transformers music video, I'm done 3:10 of the...4:30 song. Not bad, getting there. :)

I went with Shaun and saw The Muskateer tonight. The fight scenes captivated me in the trailers, and they didn't disappoint. As for the storyline...well...there wasn't really a storyline. If you wanna see some sweet fight scenes that are NOT matrixy or martial arts-y, check it out. If you'd wanna see it for the Muskateer legend, or the noble storyline...well, you probably wouldn't like it. It wasn't that accurate. For the regal, noble Muskateer charm and undescribability (that a word?), The Man In The Iron Mask is much better. Much better.

Good points
The opening tavern fight, the final ladder duel, a cool cliché antihero anti-muskateer.

Bad points
Doesn't follow true muskateer story, no storyline to speak of, seems very rushed and not believable, dialects clipped and not at all french.

Nothing of note

Working on the music video right now. And I've got the manual camera, good to go.

Wicked comic (a bit psycho though) --> Trepanation by Locke

That is all.

It's unbelievable.

Damn. The more I see or hear of this, the more unbelievable it seems. I think the sheer weight, the actual impact of this disaster, well I know I just cannot comprehend it. The numbers that have been estimated is simply unreal...and staggeringly horrific. I think Katie had the right idea, when she said it's best not to think about it...

I can't believe it, and I'm in BC. I simply can't imagine what it must be like for the people there.

Trev has been saying that this is it, the beginning of World War III. Pulling up the contrast with Pearl Harbor once again, his prediction is starting to be very chilling. It's with a worried mind that I go to sleep, and I think for the first time in ages, I won't complain about having the radio on the news at the breakfast table tomorrow.

May tomorrow be an infinitely better day...
Tragedy.

Today has been a tragic day for the USA, and the world.

I'm sure I don't have to explain the details. If you actually do not know, there is a full story here.

There's not much I can say that will stand out among the millions of similar comments. It's awful, digusting, and terrifying to know that such a tragedy can strike without any kind of warning, in today's day and age. It's also sickening to hear that the fanatics who claim responsibility were cheering and proud over their actions. The fact that they can claim to be doing this in the name of God, taking innocent lives - well, it's truly maddening, to say the least.

Hahahahaha - two words: SPACE GHOST

This is from a video clip I downloaded of Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

There are four characters. Space Ghost, Zorak (the mantis guy), Moltar (the metal guy) and a real-life person who I'll call Harry (cause he's hairy). That's what color their lines will be, the same color as their names. Space and Zorak are in the talkshow lounge area, Moltar is backstage.

Friday, 11:04 pm
Father, finally you, you admit that you're my father.
Yeah, well good luck proving it.
Space Ghost, I'm picking up four unidentified heat sources on my monitor screen.
Ah, they're probably just creatures, Moltar....space creatures.
They just violated our air space.
....bring me my monacle. I want to look rich.

Friday, 11:05 pm
And that other father that they told me was my father, is he a stepfather, or just a stranger?
(cuts him off) ah, I don't know. *hands over a magazine* You seen this?
Wow.
Yeah.
Do you like human women?
...I like these twins.
Here's an update, on those flying, dangerous space creatures.
Fill me in.
They just entered the building, through the loading dock.
.....really! *pauses, then goes back to his magazine*

Friday, 11:09 pm
Under these clothes I'm wearing, I'm wearing a ballerina outfit.
(with a giant plant pod in front of him) Yeah, what's this pod doing here?
Replicating.
.....replicating what?
Eh.....us. *scary music*
Oh no - replicating pods! The kind that keep you up all night with their coughing!
No, the kind that copy your DNA, kill you off, and kill you while you sleep.
With their coughing.
*sighs* Did you hear what I just -
No one sleeps with my grandmother! ...right?
Right! From now on.
This is for nana! *Zaps the pod next to him*
It's feeding on the rays!
(still shooting) It's the rays, it's, it's, it's feeding on them! *screams like a girl* What should I do?
*chuckles* Shoot it some more!
But...it seems to be feeding on the rays! (still shooting)
Then stop shooting it!
Do what now? .....oh. (stops shooting, looks at the giant pod next to him) Dang it! Well, looks like they can't be killed. Er - here Zorak, trade with me.
Heh heh heh...I don't think so. Muah ha ha!!
*Space Ghost shoots the pod next to Zorak* Who's laughing now, Zorak? Who's laughing now???

Friday, 11:28 pm
(Space is staring at the pod)
Hey! Touch it. Go on! See what happens!
Touch it. You know you want to...
C'mon, man! Touch it!
Yes...feel its heat...
Touch it!
Stroke its supple contours...
Nothing will happen...just touch it!
(Space Ghost gets nearer and nearer)
You know you want to. Touch it!
Touch it!
It's there for you to touch.
(closer, closer, closer...) There I touched it! Now I have to leave.
Aw you did not!
No I did, I touched it!
...who else is gonna be on the show?
Your guts!
...oh.
(Space Ghost is at the exit, presses a button, door opens to reveal...a giant orange blob!! *Space Ghost screams like a girl*) The blob! (Pod sneaks up behind, Space screams again and leaps back to his seat) I'm back! *looks at the giant orange blob oozing over all the windows*

Friday, 10:25 pm
*yawns* I am so sleepy!
*yawns* ...yeah.
(Moltar is asleep)
We should take turns sleeping! *looks at Space Ghost* You go first.
You'll wake me up if the pod starts replicating me, right?
...probably not!
Listen to me. We're not gonna live through this unless we all put aside our differences and band together as friends.
(Moltar throws a switch) Lounge lights dim and lullabies start playing.
You see that's exactly what I'm talking about. (looks at Zorak, who is playing the lullaby on his desk) *shoots Zorak*
I might need another coffee.
Good idea! We'll go get some coffee! You stay here, try to live. If anything bad happens...to you...well...we'll be getting coffee!!
Ahaha, father, you are my hero!
Yeah, thanks! *leaves with Moltar and Zorak, each followed by a pod*
(to pod) You're not human, are you? (pod unfurls to reveal spines and needles) You should get that checked! I admire you, I don't know the reaction you want! I, I fear you! (pod moves closer) You're gonna kill me...*giggles*
(over at a table where Space, Zorak and Moltar are having coffee) *Harry screams horribly* (They just keep drinking)(this goes on for about a minute)
I have an idea.

Saturday, 2:04 am
I've got it! We'll get the blob...to kill the pods!!
How are we gonna do that?
Hey! (to the blob) Blob! You, uh - heard all this stuff the pods have been saying about your mother? People were laughing, man! *silence* ...So! You wanna, uh, come in here? ...and kill the pods? Cause of what they said? ...about your mother? *blob says something* I'm sorry, I had no idea. (walks away) What's that, pods?! The blob is very fat??

Saturday, 7:18 pm
Didn't work, did it?
Of course it worked! But now I have a better plan! One that excludes the blob's stupid mother! I'm going to order one of those mind-erasing kits!
You already have one!
I know. *silence*
Well?!?
Can't you see? If we erase our minds, and forget how sleepy we are, we'll stay awake forever!!
(Zorak just stares at him)
...so this is my idea. I'm thinking about ordering one of those mind-erasing kits!

Thursday, 8:00 pm
Here's what we do! We order one of those mind-erasing kits!
You already have one!
If I already had one, don't you think I'd remember that?
So go get it!
Get what?
The kit!
What kit??

Friday, 5:23 am
Alright, here's the plan. We create a diversion by throwing the planet's orbital axis off by 13 degrees. Actually - 10 degrees should do it! You don't wanna throw it off too much, cause...well, y'know.
(shows Space Ghost looking blankly on)
Now, once we've lowered the gravitational fields by say...40 gigawatts, and secured the outer perimeter...securely, well I...I think it'll be just fine! (pulls out a big ray gun) Any questions?
(shows Space Ghost looking blankly on with his monacle)
Okay then! Move out! Lock and load! Happy birthday! And stay frosty! *fires*
I'm going to order one of those -
Alright, I got a plan. Everyone knows rust never sleeps, right? *Space and Zorak look confused* ...right! So, if we all rust...we'll never sleep! Ah? Ah??
Moltar you're the only one here made of metal. How are we gonna rust?

Saturday, 11:13 pm
So...after...you get metal-plated...that's when...we all go...to the beach! ...to rust.
Gee that's a great plan, Moltar! But if we could get to the beach...we wouldn't haveto be metal-plated.

Sunday, 8:09 am
How many times do I have to tell ya - because we'd be! at! the beach!!

Monday, 3:45 pm
(speaking into the camera) Mayday, mayday! I'm Space Ghost! And I am in some big danger! My plans were foolproof! But it started feeding on the rays! And then Moltar had a plan that never would have worked! I need a ship to rescue me! I'll be waiting for you out by the front gate! Thank you!
Nobody can hear you, Space Ghost. We've been off the air for ten days.
Excuse me. *teleports to backstage* Please don't tell me how to do it. ...it sickens me.

March, 99:099 A6
Mmm...this is some good coffee! I thought we were out of coffee!
I found some more. It's in the orange container.
*spits out the coffee* You fool! *keels over* That's decaf!!!

(everyone falls asleep, and the pods move in...)
Canwon pic! And that is all.

Wow. What an awesome movie. And it's got Claire Danes, Billy Bob Thornton, and Minnie Driver doing voices? Whoa!
Ahhhhhhh, time to finish watching Princess Mononoke!! *grabs the popcorn*

...okay, so it's only a cookie. Go away.
Happy birthday (tomorrow) KC!

Set up a link to Final Fantastory on the left side, there's a banner leading to the mini-site I have set up for whatever develops - right now there's some sketches and that little Figaro brothers thing.

And! Yes!! A different downloading princess mononoke works!! But I'll have to wait to watch it, I'm falling asleep as I type....

Friday, September 07, 2001

It's 6 pm and all I've eaten today is two fuzzy peach candies. This can't be good. Don't forget to email Ry and wish him a happy birthday.
Y'know...I *was* about to go to bed. Get a good night's rest, yadda yadda yadda. And then I thought "Gee, it really isn't very late." And THEN I thought "My class doesn't start until 1 pm. That's over 12 hours away. What the hell am I doing?" And so I came back down to muck around some more.

It is RYAN SAN'S BIRTHDAY today! This is Ryan! In case you don't know (which I'm sure actually no one will), I've known Ryan since birth, as our parents were friends from way back. So I've grown up with San. Played soccer and hockey with him. Smashed things together. (okay, so it was usually me doing the smashing, so what.) I never went to school with him though, as he went to DT and then to Sahali, where as I was an Oak Hills and Westsyde kid. Ry worked (works?) at Safeway, and though he could remember the 7 digit number for pineapples, he could never remember how much they cost.

This is the important (*evil grin*) part!! If you are reading this, please take a moment to email Ry and wish him a happy birthday! Be odd! Be bizarre! Be cryptic! Maybe don't even tell him I sent you. Just don't be mean. Because being mean to people on their birthdays just isn't cool.

Rule 1: Being mean to people on their birthdays is not allowed, cause that's just not cool.

And if by some odd twist of fate you see this Ry - what about MY transformers shirt? huh? Huhhhh? :P

Thursday, September 06, 2001

Well, even if the Princess Mononoke movie didn't work, I did take a whole bunch of screen captures, which can be seen below. (just a note, when you click a thumbnail, the picture will be a popup, and it'll be slow but it WILL load.)

Nooooooooooooooo!! The Princess Mononoke video only plays to 40 minutes in! Aaaaarghh!
Okay, I don't know the story of Card Captor Sakura or Cardcaptors or whatever it its, but I'll say a few things for it:
1 - It's got great artwork.
2 - Sakura uses rollerblades! While she's fighting the latest card spirit or whatever. That's pretty cool.

Princess mononoke is pretty cool. And the main character guy - not a fighter, not a knight, but an archer. And I love archers. :)

Ah ha, today! A revelation! The many movies I've been downloading that just would not work, no matter what - they work in that which I used to despise and really wouldn't have if it hadn't been included in Windows - Realplayer! So I'm watching Princess Mononoke right now, and it's sweet...
Ahahahaha...what a wicked site.

I'm at home, finished my *ahh* two hours of class today. Did some more sketching. Will post later. Must sleep now.

Wednesday, September 05, 2001

I had a total of 27 minutes of class today.

How sweet is that?!

I already mentioned the short Anthro class, well Political Science with Trev was only 14 minutes. Niiiiiiice. And then, the 2 seminars - Anthro and Poli Sci - were both cancelled as well! So I went home at about 1:30 instead of at 5! Can't complain about that!

Speaking of Canwon, here's a picture. It's JON!

Maybe in our seminars we'll do some cut and paste...and make a big collage out of pictures or something. Something therapeutic - you're in college now, you need it!
So spoke Cythia, my Anthropology prof. I had Cynthia last year for an Anthro class as well, so this should be alright. Though unfortunately I don't know anyone in my class. I'm in the lab right now waiting for Trevor to get out of his class, history I think it was. I'm waiting cause Cynthia dismissed the class after only 13 minutes. Not bad, considering it's supposed to be a 2 hour class.

I really hate parking here. There's only good parking at 8 am, or like 6 at night. Otherwise you drive around like vultures, lurking in wait for victims who go to their cars, hoping above all that they're leaving and not just going to change books. You get hyper-critical of others' parking: (spots a car parked crookedly) "Look at that jerk! What a brutal parking job! I mean - THREE cars could fit there!" You also get accustomed to the art of tossing your books out the window before squeezing into a spot that's so tight you have to crawl out the window.

Parking.

I hate it.

Testing a new design!!
Which is the result of my moving the blog from blogspot.com to aspekt.net - meaning, more creative power!!

Added one of my better sketches to The Drink. It's of Sabin from Final Fantasy 6 - I'm in Final Fantastory mode it seems.
Now that I've had my night class, I can safely say that luck was with me today! In the morning I forgot to buy a day-parking stub, and when I returned to the car (only 2 hours later) I said hello conversationally to this man walking nearby. Get in the car, *whew* when I see no ticket. Look up, and there's the same guy, checking the tickets of the car three cars down. THREE CARS DOWN! I lucked out. (irregardless of the fact that UCC would be bastards if they gave actual tickets and not warnings on the first day at 10 am, but hey, they might.)

In Biology it was PACKED! But I know one person, Clarence, who was in my french class last fall. So we're gonna partner for the labs. And the teacher's nice. Oh, and the thing we use for notes and marks and projects and stuff - WEBCT (ceetee) :)

So far I'm having really good luck sketching during class...in one way, that's good, although I suppose it's not so good looking at it from a more serious perspective. I'll post one of these sketches on The Drink tomorrow.
Well, first day of school went swell. My english prof is cool and casual - and Rikki's in the class, so all is well. Well not ALL, I still need to buy a parking pass and books. :P

On a plus note, I did do some sketches for the Final Fantastory thing, which I'll put up. It's strange - now I'm picturing in my head, the story as a comic instead of a, well, story. Hrm.
Wow, awesome! One of the classes I'm taking simply because I have to (as it's a pre-requisite to get into Journalism), Political Science 111, well I wasn't looking too forward to it. I really don't care for/like/understand/etc politics. BUT, I just found out that TREV is in my class! Rock on! Now it'll be (hopefully) sweet...or at least more tolerable. :)

Final Fantastory.
(this is where the final fantasy 6 story I'm writing will be, but for now it'll just be little things to pass the time.)
I don't remember if I ever wrote about the incredibly small airplane that I took from Calgary to Kamloops on the end of my trip, but there's a picture of it below. You can see every seat in the picture. As in, there is nothing, save a tiny restroom, that was on the plane that is NOT in the picture. (at the lower corners are the edges of the rear-most seats)

I love it! Love it! Simply love it - this log is money. (warning: may load slow)

And yes, I am the Mike E mentioned.

On other notes, everyone should be wherever they are for Uni in the upcoming year...Aaron is in London, Ontario (Yes, Aaron, that *is* a link to AKpCEP), Justin's in Vancouver for UBC, Katie is in Victoria for UVic - hope everyone's settling in well.

An update on the Final Fantasy III storyproject - I've logged about half the game. However, that's only logged - by that I mean (I'm playing this on emulator) saving states at various places throughout the game so I can instantly pick up the game at any one part, or "chapter" as I need to. How much have I actually recorded? The first chapter. And that hasn't been "storyized" yet. But, I'm planning on having two versions, one for slower connections, one for faster. While the actual text content will be the same, the slow version will be purely text, while the faster connection will have pictures (screen captures), any art I do about this, maybe even music, maybe even animations or movie clips. At least - that's the PLAN.
hmm...testing?
Well, if you can see the picture below (which I can) it means the server is WORKING AGAIN! Which means pics, scans, Drink sketches, whatever will soon be online again.

Adbusters. The name of a magazine I picked up in Van, it's all anti-corporate logo/slogans and stuff...I haven't had time to delve into their actual ideals yet, but they have some WICKED design stuff in the mag. I mean, hardcore creative genius at work stuff. As soon as Erin gets his server up and running again, I'll post some scans of it.

On that note, I'll also then post the canwon pictures.

Sunday, September 02, 2001

Testing, new link (adbusters) on the side.
Oh yes, almost forgot. School starts again on Tuesday.
I've got...one class. In the day, at least. Then I've got an evening class, I think it's Biology.

Saturday, September 01, 2001

Okay, I'm in Vancouver.

Thursday I spent the late afternoon/evening with Aaron, which was fun. I got to see his place, which has a NICE view (except for the dingy beat-up looking boat) and was very nice. We also went and saw the new Jay and Silent Bob movie, which was quite funny, even if the humour was pretty basic and/or simple stuff.

I've also come to love the clothing stores in Coquitlam mall - they have everything. Below the Belt. Randy River. Off the Wall. Extreme. Aspen. Bootlegger. West 49. All awesome places. And off the wall has - *drum roll* - the PSYCHO SYSTEM brand clothes! Me want. And there was the COOLEST SHIRT EVER there, but...not for me. I wish it was about 8 or 9 months later.

On another note, our neighbour who is checking the house while we're gone, called us today. Seems our hot water tank has sprung a leak. So no hot water when we get home. Grrrrrreaaaaaaat. At least it didn't explode - it just started leaking. Small thanks for small miracles (or whatever the phrase is).

I really want to see the new muskateer movie coming out, called (imagine this) The Muskateer. Aaron said it looked horrible. Me, I thoroughly enjoyed the other muskateer movies, and I think it's partially the whole image that I like - the whole almost regal, swashbuckling idea. The noble nature was quite cool before, but the fights were pretty ugly. Basically brawling. And that's why I want to see the new one - the fighting in it is art - real Jackie Chan style. I just hope they don't overdo it. If you've seen the trailer previews, the ladder scene looks SWEET.

Tuesday, August 28, 2001

Sigh, last minute plans - I can't seem to get away from thee.

We're heading to Vancouver tomorrow, and we may make it out to Victoria for a day or two...and this is where the plans are...well, absolutely unconfirmed. THere's the potential to try and meet:
Katie Hood
Andrew Scott
Katie Hood and Andrew Scott
Ed
Genee
Trevor
(any combination of Ed, Genee and Trevor)

And...none of them are confirmed. Heck, we don't even KNOW if we're gonna be going to Victoria. And the Vancouver plans aren't exactly concrete, either - all I know is that me and Aaron are going to try and get together, with hopefully some more Pacific shads and maybe even Justin Ting. :)
test
Congratulations to Katie for getting her full license!!!
(or like, G, as they call it on Ontario.) I've heard nothing but BAD things about the road test you need to do to get the full license, so congrats are definitely in order. :)

Currently listening to Hotel California by Hi-Standard (punk cover)

Well, just had a nice evening with the Sans coming over for dinner, just chilling and hanging out and stuff. I really need to get a hold of Paul to get that book back, but I don't know his address. I'll just pop in tomorrow at his house and hopefully he'll be there. *crosses fingers*

Currently listening to Now or Never by Zebrahead

Wow. Like reading? Online books are neat.
http://www.classicbookshelf.com has a really good selection and interface of some classic books.

SHADS - I've created new @svc2k.com email addresses. Contact me to find out what yours are.
Favor time.

Go here and register an account. Then, find Enchantment Under The Sea (just click the "The List" link to get started) and VOTE for it. That'd be awesome.

TEST
Okay. Wanna know why I haven't been posting oodles and oodles like I said I would be?

I left my log book on the plane.

Luckily, my friend Paul, who works at the airport (and incidentally, was working when I left) was working that night and happened to see the book. What's strange is I had written in the book, while it was still empty, a "if found contact me at keginme@hotmail.com" message - which is unusual, since I don't normally do that kind of thing. But, it was extremely fortunate that I did.

But I still haven't gotten the book yet. That's why. (That's my excuse.)

However, I have gotten the pictures organized and whatnot, and as soon as my ftp starts working again I'll be posting some random shots here on the log.

Places I've been on this trip:

Ottawa (Nepean area)
Ottawa (downtown Parliament Hill area)
Montreal (old montreal area)
Montreal (downtown area)
Vineland
Welland
Niagara Falls
Toronto (downtown area)
Toronto (Richmond Hill area)
Canada's Wonderland
Ottawa (Orleans area)
Ottawa (Gloucester area)

and those are only the places I can remember...I've driven THROUGH tons more places...Hamilton...Peterborough...and I can't remember any more right now.

Monday, August 20, 2001

okay, I'm going home in 17 hours. Once I catch up on rest, I'll be posting the MASSIVE logs I've been keeping in this little book I bought in Ottawa...there's more than 50 pages of solid writing (although they are small pages, it's still lots) so expect mucho logging in the next few days.

BE WARNED!
I'm at James' house! In Orleans (in Ottawa). There's three other people, friends of James, that are here, we're trying to figure out something to do.
PS: it's 11 pm right now.

Thursday, August 16, 2001

oh my gosh! Proof of Life has the actor who plays Ouromov (sp) in one of my favorite movies, Goldeneye! This gets better and better! And we haven't even gotten to the part where Russell Crowe shoots things and blows stuff up yet, either.
Ahhh, I'm at Katie's house (FINALLY) and we're watching Proof of Life (with Russell Crowe, baby!) and chilling. Today was harrowing. Took the greyhound bus to Toronto, which was alright for the first part of the trip until Peterborough, because there were two hilarious girls in the seat behind me. Hilarious in that the stuff they said...well, you just can't come up with humor like that. I'll call them left and right (as in girl to my left, girl to my right) and here are some tidbits that I couldn't resist jotting down...

(any comments of mine will be in gold)

---------------------------------------------

Right: "Ottawa...is that how you spell it? *tee hee*"

Right: "Let's go to B...let's go to New Brunswick."
Left: "What, right now?"
Right: "Yeah, we can do it. We can hitchhike again."
Left: "I should've gone to Alberta."
Right: "We could, right now!"
Left: "Well, I wanted to be a model, and his ex-wife's a model, so I know she'd hook me up."
Right: "We should go, like right now."

Right: "Well, he didn't insult me."
Left: "Well he insulted me!"
Right: " *giggle* I know!"
(Right is obviously very concerned.)

Left: "Hey, it's my birthday today! I hate this, I ruined my birthday. I mean, like I wanted to take my mom out for dinner for having me, and raising me for all these years, and to show my appreciation and that I care for her...but instead, we hitchhiked to Ottawa."
(I had to try soooooo hard not to laugh aloud at this.)

Left: "I'm like, here's my boyfriend. *scoff* "
Right: "Like, seriously? *scoff* "
Left: "Yeah, like 'thanks for not like, he's the most like, beautiful thing.' *scoff* "
Right: "Wow. *scoff* "

Right: "You didn't even see a black Trans-Am, cause they don't have black Trans-Ams!"
Left: "Yes they do!"
Right: "No, they don't!"
Left: "Yes they do!"
Right: "No, they don't!"
Left: "Yes they do!"
Right: "No, they don't!"
Left: "Yes they do!"
Right: "Well I was looking through Jason's Trans-Am magazine and they were all red."
Left: "I bet people think we're dumb because it sounds like we don't know what we're talking about."
Right: "Well we don't know."
Left: "But we're not dumb."

Left: "I'm sorry, but people make Ottawa out to sound all nice, but I don't like it - it's too respectable for me."
Right: "I like it, I want to be classy."
Left: "Well everyone looks down on me."
Right: "Right. Is that a Trans-Am?"
(it was a minivan)

Right: "How do you spell 'sexy' ? *giggle* "

Right: "Well hey! We're in Blake's area, we may as well keep an eye out for the Trans-Am!"

Right about this time, I'm figuring right...what are the chances that these two are gonna spot a Trans-Am...

Then, a gorgeous blue Trans-Am, spotless and shining, pulls up beside us at the red light. RIGHT beside the bus. I'm waiting, waiting for their response...nothing. And after a whole red light, it slowly drives away, the silver TRANS AM letters gleaming in the sunlight. They didn't even notice it.

(just passed the City of Kanata building)
Right: "What town is this, Kitimat?" (Kitimat is in BC)
Left: "No, dummy, it's Katimivak." (Katimivak (sp) isn't even a PLACE, it's a PROGRAM.)

Finally, they got out at Peterborough, and the rest of the trip just wasn't as entertaining.

6 pm: I'm not sure if it's a good sign that the seat in front of me has completely fallen off, and is lying on the floor...

7:17: Hoo boy. What a crazy day. After I got off the bus, I had to catch the subway. No wait, I had to FIND the subway. Then I had to take that to the GO station, and then I found out that the next train to Oakville - where I'm meeting Katie - doesn't leave until 7:43. Poor Katie. I hope she was planning on being late...

7:45: Onboard the GO train, FINALLY. Headed to Oakville. There's a grumpy old man in the seat facing mine, who wasn't too happy when I asked if I could put my bag in the empty seat next to him (he said yes, but he wasn't happy). So far all I've eaten today was a chicken wrap and a mocha cappucino McFlurry today.

8:15: "Oakville's the next stop." Possible the most wonderful words I've ever heard. (except for my own of "it's done!" concerning the 24-hour video project. *shudder* )

8:20: And I'm here! Finally!

11:24: I'm watching tv in Katie's basement, relaxing. Katie's gone to bed cause she's gotta get up to go to work tomorrow. But only till about...noon? I think? Some good dexter's laboratory, then the beginning of Proof of Life (with Russell Crowe!) and then it was off to bed. After the movie, I'm gonna check email and maybe, MAYBE try to write about Montreal, and then it's too bed for me as well.
Sigh. Running late, as usual. DAMN!
And I was all ready, and everything, too.

Ahahahaha. Well, here's a funny thing from Montreal. What do you suppose this sign is supposed to mean? No cherries?

No time at all to post. Gotta frantically get ready for going to KATIE HOOD'S tomorrow, and then to GORDON'S the next day, and then to CANWON the next day, and after that who knows.

Spend today further exploring Ottawa, continuing where I left off Monday. Bought a few things. Then went to a shadpub at The Clocktower pub with Alex, Mikey, Frodo, and a guy from Shad Waterloo 94 whose name I can't recall at the moment. When I post in more detail (tomorrow, maybe) I'll recap on this.

I gotta plug Megatokyo.com right now - check out this and most especially THIS. Wow. My gosh. Pirogoeth rocks my world.

And while I'm in the anime-style mood, damaged.anime.net has some really, REALLY good stuff - although some (okay, many) of the art pieces are not for the weak at heart. (read: GRAPHIC)

Aaaaaaaaaargh I'm mad! *RAGE*
I can't BELIEVE I just lost that much work. That was like a freaking essay. No, more like a damn thesis paper. (at least that's how it seems to a tired mike)
I hate blogger. Intensely. I wish blogger would die. now. painfully. as I am. stupid blogger.
I actually wrote this huge post about it, but STUPID DAMN BLOGGER said it's a "bigbody" and woudn't post it, and promptly lost it. I'm talking like a HUGE amount of f*cking typing.
montreal was weird. post about it tomorrow.

2:21 am now, Mikey's preparing for bed, and I'm doing the same. We're aiming at leaving for Montreal FAIRLY early tomorrow. (yeah right.) This trip has been already full of things of note, as evident from the long scrawling posts below. And it's not even the actual REUNION yet! Apparently there's a shadpub Wednesday, so hopefully we'll be able to make it to that, and then afterwards...I still don't know what's happening exactly with Toronto and Canwon itself.

Ottawa Discovery #7: A player on the Ottawa Senators lives ACROSS THE STREET from Mikey! But he doesn't know who it is! If I were actually a Senators fan this would probably be of more interest to me. As it is, it's on the "whoa - cool!" level of interest.

I saw a number of cool (or at least amusing) places today.
1 - The Beer Store
2 - Planet Coffee
3 - The Extreme Pita

I also saw this guy who looked EXACTLY like Matt Noel! I was looking at some sunglasses and he came up and says (he surprised me) "Hey, how's it going?" real casual-like. I almost blurted out "Matt? What are you doing here?" but then he went on and said "Can I help you with anything?" I was too surprised to really respond, just mutter "Uh, just...looking, thanks." I mean, this guy REALLY looked like him. Insane. The long lost Noel twins, I swear.

I never did get any reading done last night. Jaws was too much intellectual development for one night.

NICE! I just got Gordon's invitation email - I'd tell Mikey but he's fallen asleep. Oh well, good news for him in the morning!! :) Hooray!

Oh my, what the HELL is this site? Do yourself a favor and learn just how low the net can go. (don't worry, it's nothing graphic or pornographic or anything)
